Tonči Huljić / tɔn-tʃi hulj-itʃ / is the most awarded and best-selling Croatian musician, composer, and record producer. Having composed more than 1450 works, such as “Victory”, a hit song performed by the BOND quartet and pianist Maxim Mrvica’s rendition of “Croatian Rhapsody“, this versatile musician has lately been channeling his creativity into film music and musicals.
He has participated at the Eurovision Song Contest four times and produced numerous successful telenovelas. As a talent show judge on popular TV shows “Operacija trijumf” (Operation Triumph), “X-Factor Adria”, “Nikad nije kasno” (It’s Never Too Late), and “Hrvatska traži zvijezdu” (Croatia's Got Talent, RTL), Mr. Huljić discovered and guided rising music stars. Mr. Huljić owns Tonika, a record label that has nurtured some of the greatest musical talents of the ex-Yugoslav region.
He was born on October 29, 1961, in Split, Croatia, where he still lives today. He also resides in London, Zagreb, and Belgrade. When he is in the process of creating, he will usually seek solace in Stanići, a small place near Split, in Jelsa on the island of Hvar, and in Dobrinj on the island of Krk.
His wife Vjekoslava also writes lyrics for many of his songs. His son Ivan and daughter Hana are into music as well. The best, it seems, is yet to come.
